How to get to the track?
Castlemaine is situated 20 minutes south of Kangaroo Flat (Bendigo).
From Bendigo:- Take the Calder Highway south from Bendigo, towards Melbourne and turn right at Harcourt. Five minutes further on, you will be in Castlemaine. Follow Barker St. (main street) through town, through the pedestrian lights, and then turn left into Forrest St., at the traffic lights adjacent the park.
Follow Forrest St. around the corner at the Castle Motel, past Best Nissan, across the bridge and then turn right into McGrath St. just after you pass the 60 km/h sign. The track is 50 meters further up, on the right, at the Wesley Hill Recreation Reserve.
From Melbourne:- Turn off the Calder Highway a couple of kilometres past Taradale, taking the Castlemaine - Maldon - Maryborough turnoff at Elphinstone. Continue all the way through Chewton and Wesley Hill until you pass a milk bar on the right where the road bends left and runs down the hill. Turn left into McGrath St. at the bottom of the hill. Look for the "Cycle Race Track" sign.
After McGrath St. the road bends right and goes over a bridge, then past Best Nissan and the Castle Motel. If you pass Best Nissan or the Castle Motel, turn around and go back a bit. :-)
